It’s been nearly 5 years since I lost my best friend Mark to testicular cancer, he passed away at the age of 24, far too young for someone who had so much to give.
Before Mark passed away he set up the Mark Gorry Foundation, his aim to raise money for Clatterbridge Hospital, where he spent a lot of 2009 having his treatment and other cancer related charities. He also wanted to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer and try to prevent other families and friends losing a loved one.
My promise to Mark was to help with both, so I head up the awareness team, visiting schools, work places and anywhere else that will listen.
I also take part in fundraising. I've cycled from London to Paris and UK coast to coast and in February 2015 I'll be trekking across 3 peaks of the Atlas mountains. This will be my toughest challenge to date, mainly because it will involve snow, and I really, really hate snow.
So if you have any money spare, it doesn’t have to be much, every pound helps, please give my challenge a thought.
Many thanks
