Autism is a spectrum condition, meaning that it could be from barely noticeable to having a severe and very challenging impact on the individual and their whole family. Without support and understanding, those on the autistic spectrum face immense barriers to reaching their potential and taking up their valued role in society.
Autism Angels is a fantastic charity who makes real difference for children and young people on the autistic spectrum, their parents and siblings too. Days out and summer camps allow the whole family to enjoy time together, explore the great outdoors, work with horses, learn new skills and meet other families too. A dedicated and friendly team of volunteers is there all the time to give parents time to relax while they watching children blossom in safe ‘yes’ and ‘can do’ environment. Children on the autistic spectrum have big problems with anxiety levels, but when they work with horses they are calm, relaxed and happy! In this environment older children can take part in the mentoring programme to enhance personal development, self-confidence and ensure their positive choices. Mentoring changes the children’s lives, giving them hope for a brighter future.
Autism Angels is changing our family life too and we know how precious this is for all of us.
