Why they need our serviceMindfulness is a simple form of meditation. Relaxation is an effective self help activity for mental health. Both techniques calm anxiety and reduce stress. Those affected by eating disorders, both sufferers and carers, can be in a state of high anxiety and distress. Learning how to set aside a few minutes regularly for themselves may help them to cope better and to take steps towards recovery.
Plan and expected resultsEating disorders are very complicated illnesses. Practising mindfulness or relaxation techniques may benefit sufferers and carers by enabling them to take positive steps to cope with their anxieties and to bring some peace and harmony to their lives. This in turn will help them on the journey towards recovery.
