On the 9th June 2024 I will be running the Cheddar Gorge Half Marathon - which equates to approximately 21k with around 600m of elevation (i.e. I will be running up the equivalent of four times the height of Glastonbury Tor). Having taken up running last year, this is my first ever race and I'm jumping in at the deep end! I hope you will consider donating to an excellent local cause in acknowledgement of my sheer stupidity for choosing to run up a long, steep hill.
Children’s World is a registered charity (1172322) founded in 1981 by Arabella Churchill, to provide educational, creative and social benefits for all children with particular reference to children with special needs.
Children's World offer a broad spectrum of projects and services designed to enrich and support the development of children, particularly emphasising inclusivity for those with additional needs. Children's World weave together creativity, education, and social development in a fabric of community engagement and empowerment and their work locally is especially important in Glastonbury, which is recognised nationally as being a particularly deprived area.
As a child I remember attending the Children's World Family Festivals at Abbey Park, and now as an adult, my own children attend Children's World events where they can explore, create, and learn together, making their own magical memories.
Children's World is a charity doing some really exceptional work - not only do they bring immediate joy, fun and learning to the children they work with, they also plant the seeds for a more inclusive, understanding, and connected community.
Any donation, large or small, will help to ensure that Children's World can carry on inspiring children for many more years to come. Thank you!
