Our major fundraiser this year will be a '24 hour Rowathon'. All of our hard work on raising this money will be going towards a new men's 8 boat which will benefit the men's squad immensely. It will allow our other boats to be available for the development crews and accommodate our growing club.
Taking place at Milton Keynes Railway Station, we will start at 6 p.m. on Friday 8th May and row continually on rowing machines through to 6 p.m. on Saturday 9th May. If you'd like to support this event, please donate and help us reach our goal.
Milton Keynes Rowing Club (MKRC) is based at Caldecotte Lake on the south side of the city. The lake, one of the city's balancing lakes, gives us access to around a 1 kilometre straight stretch of water, running from the North Lake to the South Lake.
Membership is varied and we encourage all levels of rowing ability, from experienced rowers to complete newcomers to the sport, for whom we run Learn to Row courses. We welcome people of all ages, from Juniors through to Masters. We also welcome supporters who perhaps may wish to take their rowing a little less seriously or just help with the club's activities.
We provide a mixture of both rowing and sculling, covering all types of boats from singles through to eights.
