Monthly Drop In session on first Friday of every month at Thornbury Centre, Leeds Old Road, Bradford, BD3 8JX. All ages welcome. A chance for children and adults with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus (SB/H) and their families/carers to meet up for mutual support, browse information table and meet with satff and committee members. This is running alongside our lottery funded project and some months there will be themed workshops. Craft activities, toys and light refreshments available.

Children and adults with SB and/or H and their families/carers tell us they feel isolated and need to meet with others for mutual support. These are rare conditions and the chances are that they don't know anybody else with them. They need a local, wheelchair accessible place to meet to talk, "offload" and learn from others and staff and committee members about available supprt and services. We need money to keep this Drop In going. It needs to take place monthly as for some it is a lifeline

Everybody feeling less isolated and giving one another mutual support by keeping in contact outside of the Drop In. More informed, confident individuals who will be able to get the support and services they are entitled to. Themed workshops allow us to tackle key topics such as learning how to use wheelchairs effectively, how to keep bladder and bowels healthy. Volunteers include disabled young people and adults who will be able to use skills learnt to gain employment.
