Hello all.
My name is Moseen Khalid and I would like to share my story on Local Giving.
There are some charities who's work goes undetected as it is stigmatised by cultures and brushed under the carpet. This is a sad reality that affects all of us as a community. For that reason I am aiming to raise funds for a local domestic violence charity.
I will be riding from London to Paris in support of The Dash Charity and humbly request your donations so that I am able to raise a minimum of £500 to support this well deserving cause.
In the UK:
• 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse
• 1 in 7 men will experience domestic abuse
• 2 women are killed each week from domestic abuse
• 1 man is killed every three weeks from domestic abuse
The Dash Charity has been supporting victims of domestic abuse since 1976 and manage three refuges that can facilitate for up to 14 families at any one time. Their outreach includes: children services, refuge services, as well as Mental Health Services.
