
Moving On is a course for visually impaired people who require information to stay living independently. The course brings in the professionals to demonstrate equipment such as readers, computers and to deliver talks on benefits and much more. The attendees have the opportunity to meet other visually impaired people, and share issues that they have in common.
Why they need our serviceThe course is designed to provide visually impaired people with a base of information to come to terms with their sight loss. Losing your sight can be a very traumatic experience, and many people are not made aware of the wide and sometimes confusing services available to them after being diagnosed.
Plan and expected resultsTo date Moving On courses have now been attended by more than 60 visually impaired people. The course gives people the confidence to be more independent, both within their home and outside of it. Some of the attendees have formed a social groups in order to meet up on a regular basis after the course had finished.
