As some of you may know, I had been training for a marathon this spring which was sadly, but rightly, cancelled. Instead, I am going to do a virtual marathon for the month of June in aid of the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast - a place devoted to developing musicians and artists. Obviously their income stream has dried up during the pandemic and so they have organised this virtual marathon.
Music and the arts are such a big part of Northern Irish and Irish culture and I want to do my bit to help ensure the success of our next generation of musicians.
Finally, as most of you will know, I have been plagued with running injuries in recent years and haven’t run a race since the London Marathon in 2017. Nevertheless, I am going to try to complete this marathon in as few runs as possible. It will not be pretty and the times might be laughable but it will be done!
I, and the Oh Yeah Music Centre, would be grateful for any support you can give, big or small.
Well done Michelle
A great initiative which will bring support and ultimately joy to many
Hello! After battling numerous injuries this month, I have completed the distance! (I actually went slightly over by about 1km). I’ve added screenshots from my running watch app to show the distance!
