We plan to build a nature trail. We have an outline of the sort of things it could include, such as a welcome arch, sign posts, nature inspired art work and play equipment, interpretation boards, seating, brass rubbings, QR codes linking to our website, picnic tables, and leaflets. Much of the installation work could be done by the Friends but the total cost would be around £1,000 per stage on the trail.
Why they need our serviceThe nature trail will encourage people to visit Biss Meadows, to learn about the fantastic wildlife there and be motivated to care for it. We feel it is important to attract families, as in these straighten times it provides a free resource that gets people out of their small houses on the adjoining estates and encourages a healthy lifestyle. We aim to provide features for all ages and use natural materials where possible.
Plan and expected resultsThrough the nature trail we expect many more people to visit Biss Meadows and to join the Friends and participate in maintaining the country park. We expect people to become more happy and healthy and to be more informed about wildlife, and to appreciate the value of wildlife habitat both for the wildlife itself and for people.
