People of Kernow, Cornwall Needs You!
We are looking for your help this autumn.
With homelessness growing across the nation we need your help. Penzance is one of three highly populated areas in Cornwall which faces homelessness. Reports suggests that at least 429 people in Cornwall are homeless. With only donating £2 you will be able to help support the vulnerable homeless this winter with care packages.
We are a small group from Penwith College working on the National Citizen Service this Autumn. NCS is a personal and social development programme for 16–17 year olds.
The groups aim is to help to educate and support peers to create a difference in local communities. Our idea is to help raise money for homeless people with a local charity called Breadline, which is based in Penzance.
To raise this money we are going to partake in two activities. First is a three legged walk for 3 hours around Penzance Cricket Club, which will be tracked via the college socials. Also, we are doing a static run, row and ride to achieve a goal of 350 miles over Friday, this will be held in Penwith College's Gym and will be able to track via strava.
St Petrocs is a company which works along side Breadline, which is based in Penzance. St Petrocs has been around for 30 years. They work to provide accommodation, support, advice, training and help resettlement to provide a better life for the homeless in our community. They believe that anyone facing homelessness should be cared for and they support them with there needs. By working with Breadline and St Petroc we will be one step closer to help get them off the streets and help them supply the homeless with their needs.
“St Petrocs is really grateful to the students of Truro and Penwith College in Penzance who are undertaking a superhuman effort in support of our Breadline Centre in the town, Good luck to the students!”Iain, St Petrocs
