New Hope has been successfully operating daytime respite services for disabled children for the past four years. Recently parents have reported that they would like a bespoke service for their children when they leave school. To respond to this need we are aiming to start a new service specifically for young people aged 16-25 so that young disabled people can remain with people who are the same age as them. We want to operate this service from a small holding/farm so that we can offer activities such as gardening, cookery, animal care, woodwork and independent living skills. We would also offer beauty therapies for the young women who may choose to attend. Our plan would be to locate this facility near a village so that our young people could really take part in village life and truly be part of a community. We will need to raise in the region of 1 million pounds! A huge mountain to climb but we have come up with an idea! Supporters may purchase a metaphoric brick to "build" our farm for £5 per brick. We have worked out that we need to sell 200,000 bricks to reach our target! If you could support us we would be very grateful indeed, we feel our young people deserve to be with their own age group, just as their non-disabled peer group do. THANK YOU.
