I'm Jean, the founder of New Hope. I am doing a sponsored walk to raise monies for all the children who use our centre, they all have disabilities and are a great bunch of children.
The walk is from the Diglis Hotel in Worcester (WR1 2NF) to St Andrews Town Hotel in Droitwich (WR9 8AL)using the canals. Starting at 10am from New Hope's base WR5 1NN.
New Hope offers daytime respite care to families during every school holiday and every Saturday throughout the year. The children enjoy trips out into their community, they go bowling swimming and horse riding to name but a few activities!
Monies raised from this walk will go towards those trips (including the transport costs) and hopefully if I raise enough some much needed equipment as well.
Up until March of this year my idea of exercise was walking from my front door to my car door!! I have been training hard since March to complete the walk and have been surprised at my progress!! This is a huge challenge for me as I've done no exercise for years! This walk came around as a result of my laziness last July when I chickened out of doing Free Radio's "Walk For Kids" which New Hope was a part of, I was ashamed of myself when I saw thousands of tired hot people finishing the walk....I vowed to walk in 2014, unfortunately Free Radio are not hosting their walk this year so I decided to create my own "Walk for New Hope Kids" instead.
I hope you will support me and others who are walking with me to enable our children to have many more fun days out as they deserve it. Thank you.
