I'm up for a challenge - no, not motor racing, micro-lighting or climbing Scottish mountains. They'd be simple. This is much more challenging: learning to dance!
For all those that know me, I'm the first one in the kitchen at parties, getting as far as possible from the potential embarrassment of being dragged anywhere near a dance floor.
So how I ended up volunteering to raise funds for a great local charity - Home Start Daventry and South Northants - I'm not quite sure.
For those that don't know, Home-Start offers support and friendship to families with at least one child under five struggling to cope with issues such as postnatal illness, disability, multiple births or isolation.
Anyway, here I am, miles outside my normal comfort zone, frantically trying to master the Waltz, Salsa and Freestyle in time for Strictly Astwell, a Strictly Come Dancing competition in front of a live audience on October 12th and 13th. For me, that's about as scary as it can get.
To help me on the way, and support Home-Start Daventry and South Northants, I need your donations.
I've committed to a target of £500, which will go a long way to providing practical support and friendship to families in need.
You can read more about Home-Start below; before you do though, please make a donation; anything, however small, will be a huge help.
Wish me luck!
Thanks
Nick
