On May 8th I will be running the Leeds Half Marathon.
I will be fundraising for Carers Leeds, an amazing charity based in Leeds to support the 70,000 unpaid carers with information, advice and social support.
Carers Leeds is part of the Carers Trust, a national network of carers centres in the UK. It works closely with over 100 GP practices across Leeds and is an invaluable asset to health and social care.
Carers Leeds caters for a wide spectrum of people, including people with physical disabilities, mental conditions like dementia, and drug/alcohol addictions.
A devoted, highly trained team of people work to ensure that these carers receive the services necessary to provide their loved ones with care.
Funding is required to maintain the fantastic diversity and quality of services provided. The donations you give will go towards supporting services such as:
Individual face-to-face consultations
Home visits, for those with difficulty travelling
Carers Support Groups who meet on a regular basis to discuss specialist issues
Wellbeing events offering respite services
Grants for therapies, holidays, college courses, evening classes & day trips
