On 6/7 July, I'll be riding the NYM300 ITT. Its 300km of gravel/moorland tracks over the North Yorkshire Moors, setting off 8am Saturday morning, and aiming to complete by 8pm Sunday evening. The quick people will likely ride all the way through, finishing early Sunday morning. Me? I'll probably have a nap and try to finish sometime Sunday afternoon.
In the spirit of ITTs (Individual Time Trials), its a self-supported event - you carry what you need, only use commercial resupplies (cafe/pub stops!) available to everyone, no sharing of kit etc.
Why am I doing this? Partly for fun and adventure. Partly to raise a bit of money for Sunshine & Smiles - Leeds Down Syndrome Network; a local charity close to my heart. Our daughter Thalia has Down Syndrome, and the work of Sunshine & Smiles is invaluable in creating awareness, providing support, advice and practical help, and a range of opportunities for children and adults like Thalia, and their families.
Please, if you can, provide a bit of support.
