Team Fundraisers

On 4th March, seven fantastically fit and formidable fundraisers will be running the Big Half (13.1 miles from Tower Bridge, round the Docklands and back to Greenwich) on behalf of the New Cross Gate Trust. Please support the team with your generous donations, and come along to support us along the way, or celebrate with us afterwards at the Big Half festival in Greenwich Park. The New Cross Gate Trust provides a wide range of activities to support the local community, including adult learning courses, ESOL classes, digital skills training and a new Employment Advice service. We deliver activities to help support people to be physically and mentally healthy, including a new diabetes walking group, mindfulness sessions and a self-help depression group. We also run gardening clubs, bee keeping and sewing clubs for adults. For children, we deliver stay and play sessions for under 5s, recorder clubs, and a fantastic 2 week theatre club for local young people, developing their self confidence, team building, acting and singing skills, in what would otherwise normally be a very long summer holiday for many families who may be unable to go away anywhere during the break. We also run large community events in September and at Halloween. We support other local groups too, funding summer youth activities for at least three other local organisations, and providing capacity building support to others in the form of training or equipment needs. A wide range of groups also make use of our community space for events and meetings. Any funds raised will go specifically towards improving Besson Street Community Garden itself and to buying necessary equipment for the wide range of services we provide. Please give generously, thank you so much for your support.
