Team Fundraisers
On Sunday 13th December 2020, children from Oak Lodge school and their families will be raising money to support the school by taking part in a festive fun run around West Wickham and Shirley.
Please support everyone running by coming out of your houses to clap and cheer them on!
Children will be running with their families, socially distanced, handing over the “virtual baton” to the next group on the 42km route - that is the same distance as the London Marathon! We have two groups of 42 individual families running the route, the first family will start at 2pm running the first section of the route from Oak Lodge school before handing over the baton to the next and so on. The second group of families will start at 2.10pm from the school and run the same route. We expect the dash to finish at approximately 4.15pm at Oak Lodge School.

You can click on your road sections and the title will have approximate times for when the two families will be completing that section, for example, section 1: family 1 - 2pm and family 2 - 2:10pm. There are also details on which direction families will be running. Please come out and support Oak Lodge, clapping, cheering, or singing to encourage everyone on!
The event has been organised and run by the Friends of the School Association (FSA). The FSA is a team of parent volunteers from Oak Lodge who run a charity that works alongside the school. Amongst other things, we arrange events such as this to raise funds to go towards providing facilities and equipment to enhance the school and advance the education, development, and wellbeing of the children.
The pandemic has brought about challenges for the school and we were unable to fundraise in our usual ways. We have been working hard to organise different events this year and any money raised will be spent improving the outdoor spaces in the school and providing more IT equipment. Both of which have become a priority due to the pandemic and the school adapting to the difficulties that this presents.
