Hi all,
I'm running the Brighton Marathon on 9th April 2017 in aid of Stripey Stork. This charity is based in Redhill, Surrey, and works with the local community to benefit children and families in need throughout East Surrey.
From re-gifting donated prams, to providing clothing and essential baby items to young mums who suddenly find themselves homeless; Stripey Stork works with referral partners to help ease the practical everyday worries of families.
Despite the relative wealth of the borough of East Surrey to other areas, the charity has already responded to over 1,000 requests for help this year.
I would like to raise £1000 - this could pay for new mattresses for a Moses basket or cot for a child to sleep safely in, or could help buy a new pair of school shoes for a child that has arrived in the borough with just the clothes they are stood in.
If 200 people donate just £5 each (that's coffee and a sandwich!), you can help me achieve this!
Thanks for reading, and let's hope for sunny weather!
Oli
Well the run is now done and I'm pleased to report I made it, in 4 hours 13 mins, in fairly challenging hot weather. Everything from the waist down hurts, but every penny you donate will make the pain worthwhile. Thank you all!
