To enclose the area between the Church and the John Wesley Room with a part-glazed roof and to take our entrance with automatic doors closer to New Inn Hall Street. To provide toilets for women on the ground floor and storage and cycle racks at the rear of the premises. To build a two storey extension behind the main hall for a larger (24sq m) kitchen and a multi-purpose space of 55 sq m above. Solar panels and a rainwater harvesting tank complete the scheme
Why they need our serviceHaving provided our community services for over 25 years we need to refurbish and extend our buildings to enable us to continue to provide and expand such services. Our drop-in centre for the under-fives with a carer often has the 'house full' sign up so we need to expand our space to serve more customers. Our existing users tell us that it is difficult to book extra rooms for occasional use and therefore we are responding to this request to provide more space within the existing building.
Plan and expected resultsWe expect that the completed scheme will not only enable us to continue to meet the needs of the local community more efficiently and effectively but also to develop new ideas and to respond to different (as yet unidentified) needs in the future.
