10k for sunshine & smiles- Aileen, Sinead & Karen

My sister Sinead and I ran the 10k 2 years ago to raise money for this fantastic charity and have just about recovered to do it again on Sunday 9th July! We r being joined this time by my bessy mate, Aileen. This charity is very close to my heart as my daughter Orla has downs syndrome, she is 4 years old and we have been attending since she was a few months old. They provide groups and activities for different age groups including speech therapy sessions, swimming lessons, dance classes, information sessions for parents and events such as world down syndrome day and the Christmas party which Orla and the family as a whole benefits from & thoroughly enjoy. This is a charity which relies on fundraising to ensure its sustainability. I can't imagine what our experience would have been without it, it has been a great support to our family.
