We are an award winning small young carers charity located in Basildon Essex recognised for our holistic approach. We are a small team of 12 professionals, and currently support 150 children. Furthermore, we support their families totalling 350 individuals.

Our charity supports children from 8 to 18 years old that care for close family members who suffer with physical or mental illnesses, learning disabilities and alcohol or substance misuse.

We provide our incredible young carers with fortnightly respite sessions from their caring responsibilities, where they can do fun activities such as sports, arts n crafts, cooking, topical sessions, cooking etc. These respite sessions are a life line for our young carers to be able to meet like-minded individuals, make heathier choices, be apart of a community, achievement through learning new skills and making new friendships.

Our young carers feel isolated due to their caring responsibilities and often miss out on friendships, education, and just being a child. A huge percentage of our young carers also get bullied at school for ‘being different’ from other children causing depression and isolation, which is why our provision is so important to these children.

We have 3 qualified counsellors who provide therapeutic interventions for the children and their families without the need for waiting lists. The charity have two registered social workers who advocate for the families with school, social care intervention, housing, mental health, and various other issues that may arise. We have successfully referred children for ADHD and ASD diagnosis’s and helped families gain the benefits they are entitled to.
