My friend and I are doing a four day cycle in the Peak District from 8th May/12th May.
I work within NHS Mental Health Services and throughout the years have supported people experiencing a wide range of Mental Health Problems. It is so important for peoples recovery that they are able to express themselves in a safe non judgemental environment.
Theatre Nemo is a Glasgow Based Charity theatre company that specialises in improving and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing through creative workshops in both community and psychiatric hospitals.
Theatre Nemo was set up when a need was identified through the personal experience of a Mother who's son suffered with serious mental health problems and experienced a lack of support , understanding and control. Unfortunately he took his own life. Determined that no one else should feel a lack of support the charity was set up in his memory.
Over the years the charity have promoted hope , confidence, self esteem and a feeling of belonging. Therefore aiding recovery.
They now have firm evidence of the of the positive outcomes of the creative projects.
Mental health problems can effect any one of us at any point , please ,if you can dig into your pockets and give a small donation to this life saving charity, it will make the painful training for this 4 day cycle all worthwhile. Many Thanks, Pauline.
