PEOPLE was founded in 2002 and aims at offering help and support to low risk ex offenders that have recently left prison. We are an organization which deals with the real facts and problems arising from leaving custody and entering a community. Apart from offering supported housing to males who are over 25, we are also able to give advice on employability, benefit claims, education and training. As well as many other factors that can assist in resetting back into the society. At the heart of the work is the prevention of future victims, and meanwhile we also make efforts to reduce re-offending and try hard to promote safer communities. Our purpose is not to preach or convert but to accompany and befriend ex-prisoners who want to make a fresh start and avoid committing further crime.
Turning their life around and leaving the mistakes they made in the past can be really hard. One may feel hopeless, lost and mad about the challenges he faces when looking for job or housing. It takes time, energy and frustration to overcome all of the roadblocks that one faces but it can be done.
