Despite not being a runner I appear to be doing the Great North Run on September 11th 2016. The last time I ran anything over 5 miles was exactly 28 years ago on September 11th 1988, I was 16 and I was dressed as a pineapple. This time I will be dressed as a flamingo
I am running for a very worthy cause Sunshine & Smiles in Leeds which is a small charity that provides a support network for children and young people who have Down syndrome and their families. They aim to improve the lives and opportunities of children and young people with Down syndrome by offering speech and language therapy, regular groups and activities, individual support and advocacy for families, as well as raising awareness and challenging preconceptions in the wider community.
