On 11th May this year Zoe, Donna and another parent supporter Kate are undertaking the experience of a lifetime by participating in a tandem skydive to raise money for Positively Special!! Putting their fears to one side they are committing to this unique experience in the hopes that others will support them by sponsoring their jump! The skydive takes place at 13,000ft and a 5 second freefall at 120mph! At 5000ft the canopy is opened followed by a 4 minute exhilarating canopy ride!
Why they need our serviceDonna and Zoe created Positively Special in the hopes to strengthen the Special Needs Community in Walsall. Often families experiencing special needs suffer isolation and exclusion from everyday activities. Children with special needs find it difficult to have the same opportunities as their peers due to the challenges they face daily and parents often have little or no time to focus on themselves. We provide a venue that gives them a place to be themselves in comfort and with support.
Plan and expected resultsBy raising money we can offer these families after school clubs where the whole family can participate and enjoy the experience together. Activities such as craft, sports, dance, drama and cookery as well as sensory exploration and intensive interaction can explore skills, talents and interests as well as helping families strengthen their relationships by participating in special needs friendly events.
