A new home for Performing Room in Northampton!

We are raising vital funds to move premises to continue to support the community through music in Northamptonshire. Due to residential development a 9 year building project to convert a once trade union office and derelict community centre into a thriving modern day community creative hub located in the heart of Northampton's Boot & Shoe Quarter is soon to be demolished. This appeal will enable us to relocate to another suitable premises and continue the good work of our projects. We need to raise a total of £67,000 to renovate & refurbish an empty building into a bespoke modern day music & multi-media learning center & co-working space for up to 300 people with learning difficulties, a physical disability or with a history of mental illness, poor health, living in care & NEET to meet up each week & take part in local activities. The finances are broken down into: £20,000 for building materials, £15,000 for labour, £12,000 for staff costs; £10,000 for equipment; £10,000 for rent. We aim to re-build our purpose built community creative hub for it to continue to act as an important social outlet & support network for local people to regularly come together & take part in popular modern day music-based activities. Our hub is 4,000 sq ft in size & includes a large 1st floor performance area with dedicated workstations, gallery, stage and sound-booth plus a ground floor area consisting of a soundproof music recording studio with a DJ Room; Vocal booth and Control Room. Other rooms include 5 x Music/Video Production Rooms and a Community IT Training Suite. Now more than ever local people need security of a safe sustainable dedicated space to help safeguard against personal & socio-economic stress.
