We are a team of 2 serving and ex Military friends undertaking 2 separate unsupported desert crossings on foot over the next 18 months, raising funds and awareness for an incredibly worthwhile cause in the Lord Kitchener's Memorial Holiday Centre.

We also seek to demonstrate and foster the values and qualities that all serving and veteran members of the Armed Forces continuously strive to demonstrate and develop. These include but are not limited to, a spirit of adventure, resilience, comradeship and a sense of humour in adversity.

Team introductions are below,

Jimmy Dexter

With the expedition imminent I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce the team. First up is the infamous Jimmy Dexter! Jimmy spent 13 years in the British Army Arms within the Grenadier Guards. He has served in various countries including Afghanistan, Kenya, Malawi and Sierra Leone. He has been instrumental in the fight against the illegal wildlife trade in Africa and was awarded a commendation for this endeavour. Since leaving the Army Jimmy has set up his own gym and is currently working towards his physiotherapy degree. He has a keen desire for exploration, always maintains a sense of humour in the face of adversity.

Dominic Lunt

Although far too modest to write his own bio, Dom is the inspiration behind this expedition so must not be left out! Dom’s many guises in the RAF include physical training instructor, language specialist in Afghanistan, and his current role as a cultural adviser. Dom brings a strong background in endurance, having completed many ultra marathons, including the Marathon Des Sables and a 100 mile event (learning in the process that there are some places you just don't apply anti-chafing tape). However, what I am sure matters more to the team is Dom's absolute steadfastness, dependability and optimism.
