This project aims to redevelop the QE II Playing Field recreation ground with enhanced landscaping to create a recreational area for the Willingham community that addresses the play needs of children aged 0-18 and delivers an inclusive pathway of play to foster imagination, activity and social cohesion.

Despite its large and growing population, Willingham has few facilities for young people and the existing playground is outdated and under-used currently where it could provide a wonderful resource for families, young people and the community as a whole.

Our aspirations are to have an dynamic community space which encourages outdoor activity, community integration, health and well-being and learning through play.
