Warwickshire Vision Support has been supporting people who are blind or visually impaired for more than 100 years. We are the primary provider of charitable and rehabilitation services for people living with sight loss in Warwickshire.

Our charitable community services include:

Vision Support Centres in Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Rugby and Nuneaton - providing advice, guidance and support together with learning activities, presentations, equipment demonstrations in a safe and welcoming environment. Soon to be expanding to have 7 monthly centres in more remote locations across Warwickshire.
14 Social Clubs - Alcester, Atherstone, Coleshill, Henley-in-Arden Luncheon Club, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Leamington Bowls, Nuneaton & Bedworth, Rugby - Hilmorton, Rugby - Hamilton House, Rugby - VIP, Shipston-on-Stour, Southam and Stratford-upon-Avon.
Home Visitor and Telephone Befriending Services - providing company and conversation and connection to the wider community, thus reducing loneliness and isolation.
Information Technology Training - 1:1 training on smart and android devices which is breaking down the digital divide.
Hospital Advice Desks in Stratford, Warwick and Camphill Eye Clinics - Professional Eye Clinic Liaison Officers providing first contact support to someone newly diagnosed with a visual impairment or eye condition.
Supersaver - supporting visually impaired people with their financial wellbeing and assisting them to access grants and discounts.
Advocacy - representing the visually impaired community on matters including planning applications, transportation issues, accessibility issues. Empowering our service users to be heard to make change.
Eye Clinic Advice desks – mainly based at hospitals. First point of contact after diagnosis offering support & advice.

Why the community needs us:

As the population gets progressively older, the number of people living with sight loss is increasing. There are estimated to be more than 22,000 people currently living with sight loss in Warwickshire, which the RNIB predicts will increase to 27,000 by 2030. Sight loss can lead to a loss of confidence, a sense of isolation and a tendency for people to withdraw from family and friends. Warwickshire Vision Support is here to help people to lead life to the full - to give new skills and confidence and to help rebuild social networks.

Our impact on the community:

Warwickshire Vision Support actively supports more than 3,000 people of an estimated 22,000 people living with sight loss in this region. We have the invaluable support of around 200 amazing volunteers, making a difference to the lives of many people - helping them stay connected and maintain their independence. We know there are many more people in this region who may need our support. With your help, we can reach more people and make a positive impact and improvement in their wellbeing sooner.
