It's two and a half years since I was temporarily paralysed by a rare condition called transverse myelitis (inflammation of the spinal cord). It's felt like a long road but I'm so thankful to be fully recovered, fatigue free and fit enough to be able to run the Bath Half. Actually I'm the fittest I've ever been thanks to 6 months of Crossfit and I'm planning to run it in under 2 hours.
I'm raising money for the charity I work for - The Life Project. It's a local Bath-based charity working with some very precious and inspiring people with learning disabilities. We also have many exciting new plans which will allow us to impact more people. We plan to run lifelong supported homes and open a Life Project Centre providing a cafe, meaningful occupation opportunities, a multi-sensory space, specialist child and adult toileting facilities, and an information and advocacy service - such big plans need lots of cash!
