Team Fundraisers

We hope to raise £95,000 to fund the complete renovation of the theatre roof, and plan to raise this money through a mixture of grants and donations. Work like this can often be costly, but the Marine's location, right next to the sea, makes this even more so. Our fundraising target also includes the cost of solar panels helping to create a sustainable building that will be a Lyme landmark for many years to come. This is where we need your help.

Why they need our service

The Marine Theatre is a vital community asset with a national reputation, where local groups can stand shoulder to shoulder with excellent professional performance from across the country. Home to the Lyme Youth Theatre, festivals with international recognition, local dramatic societies and weekly dance classes, names that have performed at the Marine across the decades include James Cagney (who entertained the troops stationed at Lyme), Status Quo, Michael McIntyre, Jo Brand and many more.

Plan and expected results

Urgent renovation work to repair the roof is required to ensure the survival of the Marine Theatre. Working in a building with a 119-year history can sometimes be a problem. The roof is now in urgent need of some tender loving care. The building has survived for generations through the support of the community and with your help we want to guarantee the people of Lyme Regis a theatre at the heart of the Jurassic Coast for another 119 years.
