Clients will be seen in-house for a structured programme of up to 25 one-to-one sessions with a fully trained practitioner. Their partner and any children will also receive appropriate support as they all go through the process of change. This money will help to supplement the cost of sessions for those on benefits or low income.
Why they need our serviceAbout a third of our clients bring issues of domestic violence, most haven't spoken to any other agency about it. Living in a household that's emotionally or physically abusive is something that we all need to do something about. For some time now, we've been working with MK ACT and RESPECT to find the best way to help those who are abusive to take responsibility for their actions and thus help their (ex)partners and children lead better, safer lives.
Plan and expected resultsIn this pilot project, we aim to help 10 families. Emotional and physical abuse will reduce over time. Partners and children will do better in life.
