To stimulate brain activity and use long-term memory facility to promote confidence and wellbeing. To give pleasurable memory recall, in creating a life story 'book', both now and in the future for people with dementia and their families. To enable any carers to access the individual personalities, lives and life stories of the person in their care, thereby improving person-centred care.

The commencement of life story 'books' which can be added to at leisure. A feeling of value as a person, of being useful and needed, together with remembering and renewing a sense of the vitally significant part played in the community by each person.
