We research into various aspects of violence against women and girls, training and working in partnership with other women's organisations to strengthen the violence against women sector, and lobbying government and policy makers for legislative and policy change.
Why they need our serviceThrough research, training and education for the women's sector, and lobbying for legislative and societal change, Eaves works to eliminate all aspects of violence against women. One of the most important aspects of research and development's (R&D) work is to create an evidence base of trends or patterns in women's experiences, by carrying out primary and secondary research, and gathering data from our frontline casework.
Plan and expected resultsOur research and reports have proved influential in shaping policy. Our 2008 report Just Representation? Press reporting and the reality of rape informed Eaves' recent evidence to the Leveson Inquiry. Our 2009 report Men Who Buy Sex, and our current primary research project conducted with London Southbank University into the experiences of women exiting prostitution, have been influential in shaping current policy and legislative responses to prostitution.
