Member self government is key, they meet in formal session prior to each ride. One takes the chair. Trip planning, financial overview and bike maintenance are theirs. We use a motor cycle training track licensed from The Ministry of Defence. Trips operate according monthly. Members organise trips and recruit adult volunteers. Maintenance of the bikes is undertaken by members under adult supervision. Each bike is subject to a 22 point check, motivating numeracy and literacy.

Why they need our service

There was significant illegal motorcycle use in streets/woods by under age young men. Peer pressure has reduced this. Cotgrave is 3,872 out of 32,482 for all crime; its youth crime is the highest in Rushcliffe. Young people don't believe jobs are available; many put little effort into school. We encourage literacy and numeracy. High adrenaline "hook" of bike sport reduces anti-social behaviour.

Plan and expected results

Rev and Go Members’ contacts say "I as a member of Rev and Go will never ride illegally, otherwise I accept that my membership may be suspended or forfeit, after investigation by the members' committee and/or the trustees". Any who break this contract may be expelled by their peers. They may seek re-election after an interview with trustees. Peer pressure and associated trust delivers results.
