After six fun packed years of fundraising The Riff Raff Society has finally been granted full charitable status. The Urmston based Do-Gooding collective was Co-Founded in 2011 by Martin Green and Gavin Armitage.after Martin was left
uninspired after handing over thousands of pounds to many of the major U.K charities. He had no idea if the money that he had generated through sporting sponsorship had made a difference to anybody in particular so he hooked up with Gavin who was passionate about bringing local people together socially in the name of community fundraising action and they formed a small charity that has slowly developed into a really positive Manc institution.
The Riff Raff Society are immensely proud to have positively impacted the lives of many Mancunians over those six years. Children and adults beset by illness, injury or any other misfortune. The charity has become a life-raft for mancunians to climb on when there is nothing else to cling to. We have assisted disabled adults and kids providing respite and equipment funding as well as supporting Cancer and other illness/disease/Virus sufferers in financial difficulty.
Just as important is our ability to bring people together and now we have a charity number we want to bring local business onboard to help sustain and improve the great service we are providing for Manc's in need. We want to give the successful people a chance to give back to a charity that does make a difference.
Up until now the society has relied on the kindness of friends and family of those people brave enough to take on a challenge to raise funds for particular individual in need.
This appeal is a call for local business to support the charity to join us.
In return we are putting forward our un-hinged mildly inspirational Co-founder Martin Green as a human sacrifice for your entertainment as he attempts to set a world record for consuming Bacon Frazzles while riding on the wing of a Bi-Plane in his underpants
