Jamie Cameron, Joe Probert, Ross Purcell, Nick Sealy, Lloyd Smith and Dan Spinney are teaming up to cycle 64km and paddle 20km to raise money for Young Bristol, a youth-driven charity that works to offer a choice of opportunities and experiences for all young people: “We Believe That Every Young Person Has the Right To Discover What They’re Capable Of!”
Founded in 1928, Young Bristol provides critical out-of-school services for children and young people in local communities across the city.
This year, Young Bristol received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service and is recognised as Bristol’s leading provider of community-based youth services. Young Bristol supports young people through its community youth club network based in some of Bristol’s most challenging communities and has developed its reputation as a valued provider of outdoor activities, creative arts, sports, mobile provision, together with employment and informal educational programmes for young people.
Last year, Young Bristol had 17,141 contacts with young people aged 8-25 years, providing them with positive activities and a safe place where they can build their confidence, skills, self-esteem; whilst having fun and improving their pathway to employment.
But, the best way of explaining the impact of Young Bristol’s work is to hear from young people they work with – have a look at the short video below.
