Help Rockets GROW

Rocket Artists’ Studios provides dedicated space, support and opportunities for people with diverse identities and art practices. This includes people with a learning disability, people who are on the autism spectrum or who are neurodivergent. We are an inclusive group of visual and performance artists who challenge barriers around art, diversity, learning and communication.

As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (registered England & Wales 10593746) we are an approved provider for Brighton and Hove Council’s Disability Day Service team.

We run two dedicated studios in Brighton that support people to develop creative skills by providing experienced artist-facilitators, professional materials and resources, dedicated studio space and opportunities for professional development. We also offer an online studio space.

We are launching a fundraiser to raise money to provide specialist tools for people with complex communication needs - the tools support non-verbal people to share their ideas, have meaningful conversations, develop independence and autonomy. Our goal is to raise £3000 which will be spent on new iPads to support an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app, ie. ProLoQuo, to use in each of our two studio spaces. We will be seeking consultation and training to ensure that we can make the most of this technology in our studio sessions.

In May 2024 we hosted a postcard sale at Phoenix Art Space’s Open Studios weekend raising over £400 and we will continue to fundraise in-person at our Open Market studio shop this summer.

We would really appreciate it if you can donate and help us reach our goal!
