The Rucksack Project Barnsley has been operating since 2013, with a winter handout of food, clothing, sleeping bags and more.
Since the very beginning we have worked hand-in-hand with the BCDP Drop-in, a local charity who work tirelessly all year round to provide hot food, a warm place to go and a listening ear to everybody who needs it.
Just in the last year alone the BCDP Drop-in has served up over 16,000 meals to people, from all over Barnsley, who have found themselves in really desperate situations.
But, as reported by Barnsley Chronicle and Dearne FM, right now the BCDP Drop-in are themselves struggling to keep their doors open and to carry on providing what is literally a lifesaving service.
If they are forced to close then the difficulties faced by those who are the very worst off in our town will no doubt increase ten fold.
We really hope you will join The Rucksack Project Barnsley in supporting the BCDP Drop-in and help to keep the doors of this vital service open.
