Many of you know my nephew Ben has Downs Syndrome.. He belongs to a fantastic club called Rainbows. Rainbows was initially set up on the Island as a club for parents with Downs Syndrome children and has now extended to include many children with other disabilities. Rainbows provides much needed support and advise to parents and their extended families. Having a child with Downs Syndrome is a joy but comes with many day to day difficulties many of us take for granted. I have seen first hand how much Rainbows has meant to Ben and his parents. Not only has it given them the much needed friendship and support, but has provided them with practical skills such as sign language lessons and other resources to help them. Rainbows also organises much needed days out and activity groups they all enjoy together. I'm running in the Great South Run. Those who know me know this will be an achievement in itself. So whilst doing so, I hope to raise as much money as I can, so together we can support this fantastic much needed club and hopefully give the children and their families a great fun day out and some new sports equipment. Thank you for any support you can give. Brian
