Life has a way of throwing challenges at us, and I’ve seen first-hand how difficult it can be for women when they have to start over. I’ve also seen the impact of the right support, encouragement and opportunities - confidence grows, new paths open up and women flourish.
Sadly, not every woman has access to that support. Therapy, safe spaces, and strong networks are still out of reach for many due to cost, circumstance, or timing and that needs to change.
In 2024, I was inspired by a powerful speech from Nottingham Women’s Centre. For over 40 years, they’ve provided a safe, inclusive space for women across Nottinghamshire, offering counselling, advice, training, and community support to help women rebuild and thrive.
When I secured a marathon place, I knew immediately who I wanted to run for. Since then, I’ve visited the Centre and met the incredible women behind it, and their passion has only strengthened my determination to contribute. I’ll be running 26.2 miles in their name, while continuing to explore ways to support their work through business, education, and promoting physical activity for confidence and wellbeing.
I also hosted the Celebrate Her Charity Ball on Friday 6th March, during International Women’s Day weekend. What started as a simple idea grew into something truly special, raising an incredible £6,313 on the night.
By sponsoring me, you’re supporting Nottingham Women’s Centre and the vital work they do. Every pound raised helps women access the tools, support, and opportunities they need to grow, thrive, and create new beginnings.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
