Please sponsor me to do the London Marathon 13 April!! - It is a huge personal challenge for me the pain in training alone - chaffing, 5am starts before taking the kids to football. I am by no means a natural runner and your donations and support will really keep me going. I am doing this for a great local cause which I have a personal connection - Street Football Wales (SFW) is a social inclusion charity (1152799) that exists to improve the lives & opportunities for socially excluded people in Wales using street football. All Street Football programmes are made up of team members aged 16 and above and facing social exclusion through homelessness, substance misuse, mental ill health or cultural issues.
Some team members may have been long term unemployed or involved in the criminal justice system but all are facing daily barriers to be part involved in society and communities they live in, caused by the ever present stigma attached to their situations. SFW is there for people when they have reached their lowest ebb.
For many, fighting for acceptance and constantly facing rejection and discrimination time and again has left them feeling as though their only option is to give up and stop trying to fit in. Street Football Wales offers people the opportunity to become involved with a team where they will not be judged or stigmatised.
Right now small matter of running 26.2 miles man downnnn!!!
