Hi everyone - this is my first time fundraising so I am unsure how successful this will be but I'm giving it a go regardless. I appreciate there are millions of fundraisers asking for your hard earned money and to be honest this is no different.
I started running about two years ago and realised I was pretty good at it. Running multiple marathons, triathlons & obstacle courses gearing up to an 'Ultra Marathon' hosted on the beautiful Malvern Hills (an area of outstanding natural beauty) 31 miles at approximately 4,000ft on a technical trail.
During my training I met a group of volunteers who were raising money for their respective charities. The passion & energy emanating from their body language let alone what they were saying to me made a lasting impression. Since then I've made the decision to become a volunteer myself, I'm currently in training which has enabled me to work alongside Developing Health & Independence (DHI - Bath)
http://www.dhi-online.org.uk - Our plan for 2020 is to open a treatment centre where we can support the most socially disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our community to overcome drug and/or alcohol dependency issues.
If I can just get one person a month to take up running, in or outside of (DHI) their outlook on life will look a little sweeter or at the very least a little sweatier! The benefits of running are countless, it bleeds into every aspect of my life, I've seen it work, I know it works. Please help me reach my goal...
All the best James
