Team Fundraisers
This September I'll be dashing around Hackney with a team of other fruits and veggies raising funds for Made In Hackney!
I started out with a caterpillar costume, so over the past few weeks it's metamorphosed into a watermelon ready to race to ten different fruit and veg themed locations around Hackney - what fun!
If you don’t know Made in Hackney, they are incredible. Throughout the pandemic they supported the most vulnerable with meals delivered to their door, and they are continuing this work. Even post pandemic a quarter of Hackney residents suffer from food insecurity, with 56,000 adults missing meals and 40% of the borough’s children living in poverty.
All funds raised from the dash will go towards funding Made In Hackney's life changing plant-based cooking classes and providing emergency food support. Made in Hackney run amazing classes showing local residents how to make delicious and nutritious plant-based meals to reduce health inequalities, improve food access, and tackle climate change. What’s not to love?
