To explain… I am doing the Yorkshire three peaks challenge in support of The Reasons Why Foundation. In brief, my girlfriend left the corporate life around 6 months ago to work for this non-profit as a case worker. In her words (they’re always better than mine):
The Reasons Why Foundation runs a resettlement mentoring program for ex-offenders across London. We support people who want to change their lives for the better, who need a little bit of understanding and a little less judgment. We help people to realise and believe that they can change and to have real confidence in themselves and in what they can achieve. We work with local employers to ensure that past convictions do not prevent individuals from rebuilding their lives and walking away from crime for good. And we work with probation and other public services to make sure that the right support is received.
Hearing her stories of effecting change in peoples lives makes me immensely proud and I am always in awe of how much of herself she puts into the work she is doing there.
I’m participating in this challenge as part of a team (comprised mainly of those working directly for the Reason Why Foundation - among others hoping to support them on this challenge); mainly to increase their visibility / raise awareness of the fantastic work that they do, but of course also to raise money for the services they provide.
Any donation that you can make to this important cause will be hugely appreciated and will help them continue making a real difference in peoples lives. Thank you!
