I'm taking on another Christmas Charity Challenge - Ryan's Wensleydale Whey for The Principle Trust Children's Charity. As a mental health sufferer-turned-campaigner I'll be completing this epic charity challenge lugging a wheel of Wensleydale cheese around Hawes and surrounding area to aid my recovery and raise vital for disadvantaged and disabled children. I'm aiming to raise at least £2,000 and awareness for Skipton based children’s charity, The Principle Trust, which provides respite breaks for children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, or who have experienced poverty, or trauma.
In December the charity face a £55,000 site fee for their six charity owned holiday homes. In addition, their family feedback analysis and inspections has highlighted the need for maintenance, renovation and items in their two wheel-chair accessible respite lodges in the Lake District, costing £12,000. I hope to raise these a significant amount to help these essential works, allowing children with disabilities and additional needs to continue to benefit.
This isn't the first time I've supported the local children's charity, in December 2022 I hiked the Yorkshire Three Peaks on Christmas Day and raised an amazing £2,500, which supported five families each with a life-changing holiday.
The Trust's 100% donations policy ensures every penny raised from events and marketing directly benefits the children and their families. Founder of The Principle Trust, Mike Davies, MBE, commented, “Ryan is an inspiration to anyone struggling with mental health problems. Thanks to supporters like Ryan, we’ve helped thousands of disadvantaged, disabled and poorly children to escape their everyday troubles and create valuable, happy memories.’ So please donate what you can and help support this wonderful charity make many more precious memories that last.
If you could give a little it would mean a lot.
Thank you for your kindness.
