Team Fundraisers

Using Challenger trimarans, we take up to 100 people per week out on the water, accompanied by an RYA-qualified sailor to look after them. Our chief costs are insurance, berthing fees, protective and safety clothing, and the repair and maintenance of boats.

Why they need our service

Sailing provides an exciting new mode of movement for disabled people, many of whom spend nearly all their waking hours in a wheelchair. With additional volunteer helpers, we can enable more and more people to benefit from hearing the chuckle of water under the bow and feeling the breeze in their faces. They just love it! We sail on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April to October

Plan and expected results

We hold public promotion days to attract volunteer helpers. If we attract enough helpers, we will be able to operate on a third weekday, enabling an additional 40 people to come sailing.
