Last year I started working for Experian and started cycling to work on the occasional day. I hadn't cycled for years, but soon started enjoying the commute in all weathers. At first the 10 miles each way seemed like a huge distance...
Then I did a 50 mile sponsored ride, and got hooked. I signed up for a London to Paris ride for British Heart Foundation and completed that June this year, raising £2500.
So what next...? I am cycling from Yosemite - San Francisco in Sept-Oct 2016. We cycle for 404km over 5 days from the mountains of the Golden State, to the Pacific Coast and into San Francisco. It's gonna be hot and hilly (my least favourite aspects of cycling), and we're camping out in some pretty wild places (I may get eaten by a bear!).
I am raising funds for Heart of Experian Charity Fund. The fund was set up to help small groups and organisations who need support in tough financial times. We admire these smaller groups (that often get overlooked in favour of charities with bigger advertising budgets) for their passion and determination to make a difference and by providing some investment hope to make a difference to them. There are no management fees and funds are distributed every quarter to around five local community groups.
Groups we have helped include: Helping Betel, Bring your Own Bike-Fareshare, Dukes Barn, Evelina Family Trust, Rutland Petanque, Gasworks Dock Partnership, Gro Garden, Haringey Play Association, Communigrow, Literacy Volunteers, Loop de Loop, My Sight, Greening Stevenson Square, Growing Rosendale, The Bait Project, The Enthusiasm Trust, The Selby Trust, Friends of Swanwick Primary, Stonebridge City Farm, Friends of the Flyover, Nottingham Womens Centre, Crossdale Primary, The Reece Jeffrey Foundation, Edale Rise Primary, Notts Hospice and many more
I will be getting match funded by Experian for the first £250 of my sponsorship raised, which will mean your money goes even further.
Thank you for your support.
