Following the facilitated skipping workshop on 9th June, the children will now challenge themselves during a 2 minute sponsored Skipathon.
This skipping challenge will include improving on the number of skips performed in the 2 minutes, which we will practice in school over the course of the next few weeks using the new skipping ropes already provided from the PTA fundraising through our small grant from Localgiving's Magic Little Grant scheme. The children will aim to beat their own score, which was measured in the workshop on 9th June.
On 30th June 2021, the school will have a Skipathon Day, where children in each class will try to beat their own skip score. The biggest improver per class will claim the accolade of Skipathon Class Champion 2021!

The Skipathon and the skipping activities are part of SAMS PTA Healthy Hearts campaign, which is aiming to keep the children active (after an extended lockdown period) and look after their heart health. As well as supporting this first skipping workshop we are aiming to raise funds for a defibrillator and CPR training for the children. Any additional funds raised will go on more activities for the children to enable them to lead active and healthy lifestyles.
